How to Measure
- Height: Stand barefoot against a wall and measure from the top of your head to the ground. Record in centimetres.
- Chest: Measure horizontally around the widest part of your chest, typically at nipple level. Keep the tape comfortably snug without compressing the chest.
- Waist: Measure just above the navel, keeping the tape parallel to the ground. Do not pull the tape tight; allow a finger's breadth of room.
- Hips: Measure around the fullest part of your bottom and hips, keeping the tape horizontal and relaxed.
- Inseam (for women's swimwear): With your leg extended, measure the inside of the leg from the crotch to the ankle bone.
- Body Length (for women's swimwear): Measure in a loop from the highest part of the shoulder, beneath the crotch, and back to the starting point at the shoulder.
- Tip: For the most accurate results, ask someone else to assist with measurements. If your measurements fall between two sizes, select the larger size for greater comfort.

Product-Specific Guidance
Training Swimwear (Men, Women & Children)
Arena training swimwear is designed for regular pool sessions and offers durability combined with comfort. Sizes run true to size. For men and women, refer to the height and chest measurements to select your size. Children's training suits are offered in European sizes 092–164; measure your child's height and chest carefully to ensure a snug but non-restrictive fit. Training suits should feel close to the body without pinching at the shoulder seams or groin area.
Competition Racesuits (PowerSkin Series)
Arena's PowerSkin racing suits are engineered for performance and require a precise fit to maximise the compression and hydrodynamic benefits. These suits should feel noticeably snug—much more so than training wear. If you measure between two sizes, select the smaller size for racing suits to ensure optimal water resistance and muscle support. Women's racesuits include inseam and body-length measurements; use these in combination with chest and waist to confirm the correct fit.
Swimming Shoes and Footwear
Arena shoes use EU sizing and are based on the Mondopoint system, which measures the inner boot liner in centimetres. If you own a well-fitting pair of Arena shoes, refer to the mondo measurement printed inside. If purchasing your first pair, measure the insole of a favourite trainer by removing the insole and measuring from the tip of the toe to the tip of the heel with a steel ruler. Arena shoe conversions to UK and US sizes vary slightly between men's and women's sizing, so always cross-check your measurement against both the EU and mondo columns. Children's shoes (EU 30–35) are not interchangeable with adult sizing.
Hand Paddles and Swimming Fins
Arena hand paddles are available in standard sizing that generally fits adults with hand circumferences of 18–22 cm. Fins (powerfins) are typically offered in children's and adult sizes based on foot length. Refer to the Mondo measurements on this guide to select the correct fin size.
Zeppelin Light Unisex Suits
The Zeppelin Light is Arena's unisex training range, sized by height alone. This makes it ideal for swimmers who prefer a gender-neutral design. Simply find your height range and select the corresponding size. These suits are looser-fitting than racing suits and offer greater freedom of movement for technique work and endurance training.
Sizing Tips
- Measure in the evening: Feet and body measurements swell slightly throughout the day, particularly after swimming or training. Measuring later will give you a truer fit.
- Get a second person to help: Chest, waist, and hip measurements are far more accurate when someone else holds the tape measure whilst you stand relaxed and upright.
- Racing suits run tight intentionally: Arena PowerSkin racesuits are designed to compress and support muscles. If between sizes, choose the smaller size; the suit will relax slightly in the water. Never size up in a racesuit.
- EU sizing is consistent across Arena: If you wear an EU 38 in shoes, an EU 38 in clothing will generally fit as well. However, swimwear and shoes are separate systems; always cross-reference the measurements table relevant to your product category.
- Check the manufacturer's size label: Arena sizing labels appear on the product itself and on the packaging. These reflect the EU standard. When converting to UK or US, use the conversion table carefully, as rounded conversions can vary by 0.5 to 1 full size.
- For children, prioritise height over age: Children's sizing is height-based, not age-based. A tall 10-year-old may fit a size 140, whilst a smaller 12-year-old might fit a 128. Always measure your child's height and chest before ordering.
- Swimming shoes are not interchangeable with trainers: Mondo sizes (in centimetres) are precise and do not convert directly to clothing sizes. A child with a 22.5 cm foot wears EU 36 shoes but may wear EU 38 in training suits; use the correct chart for each product type.
- If your measurement falls between sizes, choose the larger: For training suits and general wear, selecting the larger size provides comfort and allows for slight shrinkage. For racing suits, select the smaller size to maintain compression benefits.
