Taking accurate measurements is essential for finding the right size. Follow our step-by-step guides below to measure yourself correctly for clothing and footwear.

Body Measurements for Clothing

Chest/Bust

  1. Wear a well-fitting bra (for women)
  2. Stand straight with arms at your sides
  3. Wrap tape measure around the fullest part of your chest
  4. Keep tape parallel to the floor
  5. Don't pull too tight - tape should rest lightly on skin

Waist

  1. Find your natural waistline (usually the narrowest part)
  2. Stand relaxed, don't hold your breath
  3. Wrap tape around your waist
  4. Keep tape snug but not tight
  5. Measure after exhaling normally

Hips

  1. Stand with feet together
  2. Find the fullest part of your hips
  3. Wrap tape around hips and buttocks
  4. Keep tape parallel to the floor
  5. Ensure tape is not twisted

Inseam

  1. Wear well-fitting trousers
  2. Measure from crotch seam to hem
  3. Or stand against a wall
  4. Measure from crotch to desired length
  5. Ask someone to help for accuracy

Sleeve Length

  1. Bend elbow at 90 degrees
  2. Start at centre back of neck
  3. Measure across shoulder to elbow
  4. Continue down to wrist bone
  5. Keep tape measure following arm's curve

Neck

  1. Wrap tape around base of neck
  2. Place finger between tape and neck
  3. This ensures comfortable fit
  4. Round up to nearest half inch
  5. This is your collar size
