Bravado Size Guide
Bravado specialises in nursing and maternity bras designed for comfort, support, and practicality during pregnancy and postpartum. The brand's philosophy centres on accurate fit through precise measurement, ensuring that every customer finds their true band and cup size. Bravado bras are engineered for mothers seeking reliable support without compromise, making them ideal for expecting and nursing parents who prioritise both functionality and confidence.
How to Measure
- Prepare: Gather a soft measuring tape, pen, and paper. Wear a non-padded bra that reflects your true breast shape. Stand in front of a mirror.
- Measure Band Size (Measurement A): Place the measuring tape around your back and under your breasts. Ensure the tape is parallel to the floor along both your back and under your bust. The tape should be snug around your body with no fingers able to slip underneath. Record this measurement in centimetres.
- Measure Cup Size (Measurement B): Measure around the fullest part of your breasts, directly over your nipple area. This measurement should be noticeably looser than your band measurement. Hold the end of the tape at your breast side, then use your free hand to press the tape gently between your breasts to your chest for accuracy.
- Calculate Cup Size: Subtract your band measurement (A) from your bust measurement (B). The difference in centimetres determines your cup size.
- Cross-Reference Charts: Use the tables below to find your band size and cup size in your preferred sizing system (US, UK, EU, or FR/ES).

Product-Specific Guidance
Nursing Bras
Bravado nursing bras are engineered with easy-access features for feeding and pumping. Accurate band and cup sizing is essential — an ill-fitting band will ride up during nursing, and an incorrect cup size compromises breast support. Measure whilst wearing your preferred everyday bra (not a sports bra, which will compress your bust). Many customers find they need to go up a band size during pregnancy due to rib expansion; remeasure in your third trimester for optimal comfort.
Full Cup Styles
Bravado's Original Full Cup design offers comprehensive coverage and uplift. Full cup bras require precise cup sizing — if your measurement falls between sizes, choose the larger cup to avoid spillage and discomfort. The full cup provides excellent support for larger cup sizes (E and above) and is particularly popular during pregnancy when breast tissue is tender.
Maternity Support
Maternity-specific bras from Bravado are designed to expand comfortably as your bust grows throughout pregnancy. Start with your pre-pregnancy size early in pregnancy, then measure again every 4–6 weeks as your body changes. Many nursing bras also function as maternity bras, offering dual benefits for expecting and new mothers.
Sizing Tips
- Measure in the morning: Breast tissue can swell throughout the day, so take your measurements early when your bust is at its baseline size for the most accurate reading.
- Remeasure regularly during pregnancy: Your band size can increase by 1–2 sizes as your ribcage expands. Refit every trimester or whenever your current bra feels tight around the band.
- Do not pull the tape tight: The measuring tape should be snug but not compressive. If you can fit one finger underneath the tape, the measurement is correct.
- Press between the breasts: When measuring cup size, gently press the tape between your breasts to your chest wall rather than over the top of your bust. This accounts for your true volume and prevents overestimation.
- Wear a non-padded bra during measurement: Padded bras, push-up styles, and heavily constructed bras distort your true shape. A soft, unpadded bra worn whilst measuring ensures your dimensions reflect reality.
- Account for breast changes postpartum: Your cup size and band size may shift after nursing. If your fit changes, remeasure before purchasing additional bras rather than assuming your pregnancy size remains accurate.
- Consider your comfort level: Bravado bras are designed for all-day wear. If a size feels restrictive on the band or leaves marks, size up. A properly fitted nursing bra should feel secure without digging in.
