How to Measure
- Measure your underbust (band size): Wearing an unpadded bra or no bra, measure snugly around your ribcage directly under your bust with a soft measuring tape. Keep the tape parallel to the ground. Round to the nearest whole inch or centimetre. This is your band size.
- Measure your bust (cup size): Measure loosely around the fullest part of your bust, keeping the tape parallel to the ground and allowing it to sit naturally without compression.
- Calculate the cup size: Subtract your underbust measurement from your bust measurement. Each 1 inch (2.5 cm) of difference equals one cup size. For example, if your underbust is 34 inches and your bust is 37 inches, the difference is 3 inches, which equals a D cup.
- For briefs and swimwear bottoms: Measure around your natural waist and hips at their widest points. Use the brief size conversion chart below to match your UK dress size to the corresponding XS–XXL label.

Bralettes
Fantasie bralettes are a comfortable, wire-free alternative but fit differently depending on the collection. Do not assume your bra size translates directly. Instead, consult the bralette-specific conversion charts provided for Smoothease, Impression, and Fusion/Envisage styles to ensure the best fit. Bralette sizing typically runs between XS and XL.
Briefs & Lingerie Bottoms
Fantasie briefs, including full briefs, midi briefs, and Brazilian briefs, are sized by letter label (XS–XXL) rather than by bra size. Use your UK dress size to determine the correct brief size. Note that fit can vary slightly between styles; some may be more generous, whilst others may run slightly smaller. If you are between sizes, try the larger size for comfort.
Sizing Tips
- Measure in the morning. Breast volume and band feel can differ throughout the day. Take your measurements in the morning for the most consistent results, and re-measure every six months, as weight and hormonal changes can affect fit.
- Use a soft, flexible tape measure. A rigid ruler or tailor's tape will give inaccurate measurements. Ensure the tape lies flat against your skin without wrinkles or bunching.
- Do not add inches to your underbust measurement. Fantasie uses UK sizing, which requires no addition to the band measurement. Your measured underbust is your band size.
- Account for cup size depth. Fantasie offers extended cup ranges (up to JJ). If your bust-to-underbust difference is larger than standard, a larger cup size with a smaller band (sister sizing) may fit better. For example, a 34G is similar in cup volume to a 36F or a 32GG.
- Try on bras and briefs in different styles. Fit varies by design. A plunge bra will fit differently from a balcony or full-cup style in the same size. Bralettes fit differently still; always consult the style-specific conversion chart.
- Check the straps and gore. The center gore (the panel between the cups) should sit flat on your sternum. Straps should be positioned towards the back of your shoulders, not pulled toward your neck or slipping off. Discomfort at the gore or side seams may indicate the wrong size.
- Swimwear typically runs true to bra size. If you wear a 34D bra, order a 34D bikini top. However, some styles may be cut differently; check individual product descriptions for fit notes before ordering.
- Remember that briefs are sized by dress size, not cup size. Your bralette or bra size does not directly dictate brief size. Use your UK dress size (8–22) to select an XS–XXL brief. If you sit between sizes, choose the larger option.
