Red Run Size Guide
Welcome to the Red Run size guide. As a brand dedicated to high-performance technical running and activewear, our clothing is designed to move with you, offering maximum comfort and durability during intense training and long-distance runs. Our sizing philosophy prioritises athletic fit—meaning our garments are engineered to be supportive and breathable, rather than purely tailored. We recommend paying close attention to the measurements provided, especially for technical items like leggings and running tops, as fit is crucial for optimal performance and comfort.
How to Measure for the Best Fit
To ensure you select the perfect size, especially for technical running gear, accurate measurements are essential. Please follow these steps:
- Measure Both Feet: It is common for feet to be slightly different in size. Always measure both feet and use the measurement of your larger foot for shoes.
- Timing Matters: Measure your feet in the late afternoon or evening, as feet tend to swell throughout the day.
- Footwear Measurement: Use a ruler or measuring tape to measure the length (heel to longest toe) and the width (widest part of the ball of the foot).
- Adding Space (Shoes): For running shoes, always add 1 to 1.5 cm (or 0.5 to 0.6 inches) to your measured foot length. This extra room prevents blisters and accommodates natural foot swelling during long runs.
- Clothing Measurement: Use a flexible measuring tape to measure your body at the designated points: Bust, Waist (at the natural waistline), and Hips (at the fullest point).

Sizing Tips for Runners
Running places unique demands on your body, and your gear should support your movement. Keep these expert tips in mind:
- The Swelling Factor: Your feet naturally swell during long runs. Always size up slightly (especially in shoes) to account for this increased volume and prevent painful toe compression.
- Sock Consideration: If you wear padded or technical running socks, these add bulk and require you to select a larger shoe size than usual to prevent rubbing and friction.
- The "Thumb Rule" (Shoes): When trying on running shoes, you should be able to fit your thumb's width between your longest toe and the front of the shoe. This allows for natural toe movement.
- Prioritise the Largest Foot: If your feet are asymmetrical, always size your shoes based on the measurements of your larger foot.
- Athletic vs. Casual: Remember that athletic shoes are built for dynamic movement and often run differently than casual or dress shoes.
- Between Sizes: If you are between two sizes, consider the type of run. For high-mileage or marathon training, opting for the slightly larger size is safer for your long-term comfort and injury prevention.
